Honey Aleppo Chicken Eggrolls

Something beautiful was born last night! Huge shout out to the star of the show @friedasproduce for these amazing wonton wrappers, also the supporting act of @traderjoes Honey Aleppo Sauce (which you NEED), and joining me for the show was my clean crafted friend Fieldhouse White 🥂 I’ve been told before, by my fiancé, my worst trait is that I don’t like Chinese food. Which all in all isn’t bad, but why not take your classic egg roll & GET CRAFTY. Switch up those flavors, make them something different? No reason not to, simple as that. So these Honey Aleppo Chicken Eggrolls came to be.

Cheers to recreating to your own taste buds 🥂

Ingredients:

Ingredients (~20 mini egg rolls):

  • 1 package @friedasproduce wonton wrappers (I only used about 1/2 the package!)

  • 1 chicken breast

  • Trader Joe’s Honey Aleppo Sauce (you can sub for another fave! Think something sweet with a little kick)

  • 4 cloves of garlic

  • 1/4 cup chopped scallions

  • 1 egg white

  • fresh cilantro to garnish & dip of choice - mine was @bolthousefarms avocado ranch

  • ** optional to add pickled red onion!

Wine Pairing

The Perfect Pair

Filedhouse Chardonnay

Perfect with poultry & compliments the honey in the Aleppo sauce!

How To Make Them:

  1. marinate 1 chicken breast in Honey Aleppo for 1 hour minimum

  2. set oven to 400 & place marinated chicken breast + garlic on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 18 mins

  3. while the chicken cooks, chop green onions & place 1 egg white in a small bowl & whisk

  4. remove chicken from oven & shred with 2 forks. Chop roasted garlic & add to chicken with the green onion & ~1/4 cup additional honey aleppo & mix thoroughly

  5. take 1 wonton wrapper at a time, take ~ 1 tbsp chicken mixture & place in the middle of the wrapper with a corner facing you looking at it like a diamond, brush egg white on the sides opposite, roll, fold the edges in & roll over to create egg roll shape (check the instagram post for a video!) repeat for ~20 egg rolls

  6. brush the top of each & put in the oven at 400 for 10 min, flip & finish for another 15 to get a crisp outside

  7. serve with fresh cilantro & dip of your choice! Love avocado ranch!
***these would be AMAZE in the air fryer! I just don’t have one, cough anyone who wants to send one?
🍷🥂pair with Scout & Cellar Fieldhouse Chardonnay, perfect with poultry!
